Hi, Steve. I'm a farmer in northeast Columbus. (http://frijolitofarm.com/) If I knew specifically what you wanted to learn, I might be able to refer you to the right place. OSU has a Master Gardener program. Mayda, Karen, or I could probably answer any questions you have about farmers markets, or point you toward someone who can. Mayda and I are networking with some folks who have experience growing grains. I expect I'll raise about 2000 broilers (meat chickens) this year, and I have a friend who just moved to Columbus who used to raise meat rabbits. The bunch of us know various people doing different things with greenhouses.

What do you want to know? On top of that, what do you have to offer? You no doubt have knowledge others here could benefit from. Tell us about your farm.

Welcome Steve. There are so many lectures that I would like to see locally also. I work with 4 Seasons City Farm who could sponsor a few. This could also be coordinated with Bill Dawson at Franklin Park (the Growing to Green Program) and American Community Garden Association that has offices there also. They will be hosting a large national conference in the fall. No word on their summer activities yet. There's a new student group at Ohio State who want to go green also with their own garden. Look for updates as we try to bring these people online with each other.

i was interested in some more info. on these courses, and was wondering if there was more classes going on. i'm interested in getting in contact with farmers and teachers, we are a urban farm in columbus south east area. and our goal is to use what we do to educate teens and others what we have going on here, however more education for us is a must as well.
